About the role
Bolt is looking for a Lead Engineer People Technology to lead the team that builds and evolves the systems, integrations, automation and AI-powered capabilities supporting Bolt's People function. You will set the technical direction, support and develop engineers, and help define how Bolt uses automation and agentic AI to make People processes more intelligent.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop the People Technology engineering team, set priorities, support engineers and give regular feedback.
- Set the technical direction for integrations, automation, AI-enabled workflows and core platforms.
- Lead the engineering work to build, improve and evolve People systems and their connections.
- Shape the team's approach to agentic AI, including reliable, secure and useful AI-powered experiences and automations.
- Make architecture and build-vs-buy decisions.
- Contribute to technical design, code reviews and implementation of key parts of the platform, upholding security, privacy, access control and reliability.
Required profile
- Experience as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead or senior technical leader with a track record of leading and developing engineers.
- Experience making technical and architecture decisions and communicating the trade-offs behind them.
- Comfortable working with legacy systems and leading complex migrations or major changes without disrupting critical processes.
- Experience mentoring team members and raising technical standards and engineering quality.
- Plus: experience with sensitive or regulated data, including access control and privacy practices.
Required skills
- Strong experience designing and building backend systems, integrations, APIs or automation platforms.
- Experience with AI/LLM-powered automation or agentic systems.
