About the role
Saunum is looking for a technically skilled Mechanical Development Engineer to turn innovative ideas into series‑produced sauna climate devices. You will work at the intersection of mechanics, electronics and software, shaping products from concept to market.
Key responsibilities
- Develop new and improve existing products from concept through series production.
- Create mechanical solutions, 3D models and prototypes.
- Prepare production drawings, assemblies, tolerances and other technical documentation.
- Design sheet‑metal parts and structures.
- Select appropriate materials, components and manufacturing technologies.
- Write technical specifications and production requirements.
- Build, test and refine prototypes.
- Collaborate with production, quality, procurement, electronics and software teams.
- Diagnose production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Improve manufacturability, reliability and cost‑efficiency.
- Resolve technical questions with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
Required profile
- Passion for turning physical products from idea to finished goods.
- Strong understanding of sheet‑metal processing and related cutting, bending, stamping, welding and finishing technologies.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling, preferably SolidWorks, or willingness to learn quickly.
- Ability to produce accurate mechanical and production drawings.
- Knowledge of tolerances, materials and design for manufacturing.
- Basic electrical knowledge and ability to read simple schematics.
- Experience writing clear technical specifications, material lists and production documentation.
- Hands‑on problem‑solving attitude and readiness to work directly with prototypes and production.
- Systematic, responsible approach and good spoken and written English.
