Network Engineer - Platform Integrations EMEA

About the role

Wise is hiring a Network Engineer for its Platform Integrations EMEA team, which expands and maintains direct integrations with payment systems and partners across the region. The team sits within the Platform tribe, which designs, builds and operates the foundational direct integration infrastructure behind the product that moves billions of dollars each month. The role is based in Tallinn and is open only to local candidates; relocation support is not provided, though visa sponsorship transfer is possible.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain integrations between Wise and complex financial systems
• Develop and design scalable, repeatable architectures with complex regulatory requirements
• Analyse infrastructure to find inefficiencies and problems, and create automation and optimisation
• Collaborate with the wider platform engineering team and product engineering on globally impactful projects
• Communicate with stakeholders, plan roadmaps and define scope and realistic delivery
• Work with Leads and Engineers to shape technology direction and advocate for excellence with third parties

Required profile

• Self-starter who can run with projects, with a reliability and scalability mindset
• Security and privacy by design, thinking about risks and compliance
• Comfortable with a flat organisation and a modern, cloud-heavy environment
• Technical influencer able to promote architectural patterns internally and externally
• Effective communicator with technical and non-technical audiences

Required skills

• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, routing and switching, traffic load-balancing/ECMP, firewalls, IPsec, GRE, security policies, Network ACLs, BGP
• SRE and network automation: IaC, Python, Ansible, Netconf, CI/CD, telemetry
• Cloud networking, preferably AWS (VPC, transit gateways, direct connect, VPC peering)
• Linux networking and documentation of network designs
• Nice to have: leading technical projects, Kubernetes, Git/Github

What we offer

• Starting salary of EUR 4,250 - 5,750 gross per month (EUR 51,000 - 69,000 gross per year)
