Quality Engineer

About the role

The Quality Engineer builds and runs the quality assurance processes that keep Stargate's products, processes and quality system reliable, traceable and continually improving. The company is in a scale-up phase, so the role offers responsibility and freedom in an agile environment. Candidates must be based in Estonia and not need relocation.

Key responsibilities

• Review stack component drawings so that quality requirements are clear and verifiable with existing or new measuring devices
• Write inspection instructions, guidelines and control plans; develop measurement methods, select gauges and perform MSA (e.g. Gage R&R)
• Plan and lead First Article Inspection (FAI) of new and changed parts, including supplier FAI reports
• Lead incoming inspection, handle nonconformities (NCRs, quarantine, disposition) and own the feedback to external providers process
• Manage golden and OK/NOK samples, and establish QA processes and traceability
• Lead cross-functional improvement projects and help resolve customer claims
• Substitute the Quality Specialist in inspections during absences

Required profile

• Degree in mechanical engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience) plus at least 3 years in quality or mechanical engineering in manufacturing
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (including GD&T), certificates and measurement reports
• Experience with control plans, FAI, nonconformance handling, root cause analysis and corrective actions (CAR)
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and supplier quality work
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to set priorities

• Practical metrology and use of measuring equipment
• Basic statistical knowledge and data handling
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Nice to have: PFMEA, MSA, internal audit experience, Business Central ERP, Alldevice and Autodesk Vault, forklift licence
