Senior Android Developer (Kotlin) - Remote

About the role

A partner company, represented by a recruiter, is looking for a Senior Android Developer (Kotlin) based in Estonia. The role is fully remote within an international team, focused on building and improving native Android apps with a strong emphasis on accessibility and inclusive design. The developer works with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose and Android Views, and helps implement accessibility features, navigation improvements and integration with assistive technologies such as TalkBack.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain native Android applications in Kotlin, adding new features and improving existing ones.
• Build and improve app components with Jetpack Compose and/or Android Views, keeping stability, performance, maintainability and code quality high.
• Implement and optimise accessibility features, including TalkBack compatibility, content descriptions, accessibility roles and states, and focus management.
• Support scalable text, accessible font sizes, optimised touch targets and accessible navigation.
• Run accessibility testing with TalkBack and validate implementations against WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 guidelines.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of professional experience in native Android development.
• Extensive hands-on experience implementing accessibility features in Android apps.
• Strong practical experience with TalkBack and with Android Accessibility APIs and/or Compose Semantics.
• Good English and the ability to collaborate in an international team.

Required skills

• Strong Kotlin.
• Jetpack Compose and/or Android Views.
• WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 knowledge (ideally).
