Senior Java Software Engineer – Core Financial Services

About the role

Join Luminor as a Senior Java Software Engineer, designing and building robust, scalable systems for the bank’s core platform using Java 21, Spring Boot, Kafka and cloud‑native technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve messaging, service‑to‑service communication, APIs, file and workflow management systems.
• Build and evolve event‑driven architectures with Apache Kafka as a core backbone.
• Own solutions end‑to‑end, from design through production stability, ensuring quality, security and performance.
• Drive technical discussions, contribute to architecture decisions and create proof‑of‑concepts for new technologies.
• Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve system reliability.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Java (preferably Java 21) and Spring Boot.
• Proven experience designing and building distributed, event‑driven systems (Kafka or similar).
• Hands‑on experience with AWS, Kubernetes/Docker and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Argo CD).
• Experience with microservices architecture and API design.
• Fluent English (spoken and written) and ability to work in a Pan‑Baltic environment.
