About the role
RINA is seeking an experienced Senior Marine Surveyor to join its North Europe Marine Division in Estonia. The role involves applying deep knowledge of maritime rules, regulations and classification standards to ensure the safety and compliance of ships and offshore assets.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, schedule and coordinate all phases of surveying work for classed vessels and offshore installations.
- Conduct routine inspections, tests and trials to verify compliance with classification and statutory requirements.
- Prepare accurate, timely survey reports and issue certificates, records and status documents.
- Guide and mentor less‑experienced surveyors, monitoring quality and providing technical support.
- Interact with clients to resolve technical issues and ensure satisfaction.
Required profile
- Master’s Degree in Naval Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Surveyor (or 6 years in engineering/inspection with an IACS member society).
- Proficiency in English appropriate to classification and statutory work.
- Ability to develop working knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides and safety policies.
Required skills
- In‑depth understanding of maritime Rules, Regulations and classification standards.
- Knowledge of ship engineering systems, machinery and shipbuilding practices.
- Ability to interpret engineering plans and conduct detailed inspections.
- Familiarity with inspection and surveying software tools.
