Site Engineer - Railway Signalling T&C
Siemens · Tallinn
Job description
About the role
Siemens Mobility is looking for a detail-oriented, technically skilled Site Engineer specializing in Testing & Commissioning (T&C) for its railway signalling project team in Estonia. The role is hands-on: you will execute, document and validate the technical performance of railway signalling systems on site, working with site teams, engineering departments and external partners so that interlocking, trackside and train control systems are tested safely and in line with project specifications and railway standards.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and carry out on-site testing and commissioning of railway signalling systems such as electronic interlocking, track circuits, point machines and signals.
- Analyze test results, troubleshoot technical anomalies or integration issues on site and coordinate corrective actions with engineering teams.
- Compile and verify test records, protocols, as-built documentation and safety sign-offs according to regulatory standards.
- Follow and enforce site safety rules, testing protocols and railway possession regulations during live or dead testing.
- Work with site partners, sub-contractors, independent safety assessors and client representatives during witness testing and handover.
- Report daily testing progress, milestones and technical roadblocks to the Site Manager and T&C Manager.
Required profile
- Proven experience (2+ years) as a Site Engineer, T&C Engineer or Testing Engineer, ideally in railway signalling or heavy industrial automation.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Telecommunications, Railway Engineering or a related field.
- Fluent written and spoken Estonian or Russian; bilingualism is a strong asset.
- Practical English for technical documentation and international coordination.
- Willingness to work on site across Estonia, including occasional night or weekend shifts.
Required skills
- Solid understanding of railway signalling principles and safety-critical systems.
- Familiarity with T&C workflows, test procedures and complex electrical schematics and signalling plans.
- Experience with interlocking systems is a strong advantage.
What we offer
- Work on state-of-the-art rail technology and major infrastructure upgrades in the Baltic region.
- Hands-on technical challenges and continuous professional growth within Siemens Mobility.
- A collaborative and international team environment.
- The position is permanent, with the aim of starting as soon as possible.
Candidates should send their resume and cover letter by 1 November.
