Software Architect

About the role

Some of the most interesting software problems have no ready‑made answer. At Nortal you will be close to the decisions that define a solution, with the freedom to explore the right direction and the technical depth to make it work in practice.

Key responsibilities

• Lead collaboration with tech leads to design and implement sustainable software architecture.
• Establish engineering processes that prioritize maintainability, quality, and smooth delivery.
• Build key parts of the solution hands‑on alongside the development team.
• Partner with clients to translate business requirements into viable technical solutions.
• Drive strategic architecture decisions that align technical execution with business goals.

Required profile

• Strong technical background with proven experience leading architecture or technical direction on complex systems.
• Hands‑on experience with Java, Angular, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
• Ability to diagnose problems early and set direction.
• Excellent communication skills, including presenting to clients.
• Fluency in Estonian and English.
