Transaction Risk Manager

About the role

LHV Bank is expanding its personal banking services and needs a Transaction Risk Manager to lead day‑to‑day Transaction Risk activities. Reporting to the Head of Financial Crime, you will enhance the function’s capability, develop colleagues and ensure effective support and challenge across the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain Transaction Risk processes, procedures and operational standards.
• Design and embed improved ways of working with clear responsibilities, decision points and escalation routes.
• Monitor backlogs, performance and operational risks, taking action where required.
• Support new client onboarding and manage material changes or emerging risks for existing clients.
• Provide operational input into transaction monitoring and sanctions/payment screening controls.
• Assist in developing, testing and implementing changes to monitoring rules and associated workflows.
• Facilitate audits, assurance reviews, regulatory requests and control assessments affecting Transaction Risk.
• Represent Transaction Risk in governance forums, projects and working groups.

Required profile

• Strong experience in Financial Crime operations, specifically Transaction Monitoring or Sanctions, within a regulated financial services environment.
• Proven ability to develop and improve operational processes and procedures.
• Experience managing competing operational priorities and senior stakeholder relationships.
• Track record of owning audit, assurance and regulatory activities and driving actions to completion.
• Leadership, coaching and decision‑making skills with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
