Head of Legal

About the role

PLG Group is seeking an experienced Head of Legal to lead its legal function across multiple Central European markets. The role reports to the CEO and works closely with the Board to turn legal complexity into clear business decisions, supporting the company’s international growth.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the CEO, Board and executive team on material legal, regulatory and governance matters.
• Define and execute the Group’s legal strategy, risk priorities and compliance framework.
• Lead cross‑border M&A transactions from due diligence through post‑acquisition integration.
• Prepare legal readiness for market entry, covering corporate structure, payments, consumer protection and data privacy.
• Oversee the legal framework for marketplace, ticketing and payment services, including PSD2/PSD3 compliance.
• Embed legal considerations early in product, data, AI and pricing processes.
• Build scalable legal‑operations processes, templates and a contract repository.
• Maintain corporate governance, manage disputes, IP, insurance and external counsel.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer in an EU/EEA jurisdiction with ~12+ years post‑qualification experience.
• Significant senior in‑house legal leadership, preferably with law‑firm experience.
• Strong background in digital marketplaces, e‑commerce, ticketing, payments or regulated technology.
• Proven experience leading cross‑border M&A and post‑integration activities.
• Deep understanding of EU consumer, payments, privacy, competition and digital‑platform regulations.
• Ability to translate regulation into practical product requirements and risk‑based controls.
• Excellent English communication; Estonian or another PLG market language is a plus.
• Willingness to travel within PLG’s markets.
