AI Platform Lead (Captain AI)

About the role

Nortal, a digital transformation partner for companies and governments, is looking for an AI Platform Lead (Captain AI) to take ownership of its enterprise AI platforms and help shape how AI is used across the organisation. This is not a traditional product owner or AI development role: it is an internal AI champion position combining technical expertise, hands-on problem solving, service ownership and cross-team collaboration. Applications are considered only from candidates already based in Estonia.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of Nortal's enterprise AI platforms, keeping them reliable, secure, well supported and continuously improving.
• Act as the internal AI expert, staying ahead of emerging tools, technologies and developments.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance and support to colleagues and stakeholders.
• Evaluate new AI tools, integrations and use cases, assessing technical feasibility, practical value and potential risks.
• Improve and automate AI-related service processes, including licence management, access requests and support workflows.
• Coordinate the administration and operational support of AI platforms across distributed IT teams.
• Work with Information Security, Legal, Compliance and AI Governance teams so AI platforms stay within approved policies and controls.
• Support the technical lifecycle of shared GPTs, AI agents, skills, connectors and integrations.
• Drive internal AI adoption through knowledge sharing and practical guidance, and establish scalable best practices.

Required profile

• Experience in IT service management, enterprise applications, SaaS platforms, IT operations or a comparable technical environment.
• Good understanding of enterprise IT environments, including access management, integrations, security considerations and support processes.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences and to work with stakeholders across functions and seniority levels.
• Proactive, independent and solution-oriented; strong communication and collaboration skills in English (Estonian is a plus).
• No prior AI Platform Lead experience needed if you have the technical foundation and motivation to grow into the role.

Required skills

• Strong practical knowledge of modern AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot or Claude.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
