Data Engineer - Cloud & SaaS Integrations
DoiT · Remote Estonia
Job description
About the role
DoiT is hiring a Data Engineer to own the data side of its Integrations Framework, which gives customers a single view of their cloud and SaaS spend across many vendors. The role is remote and full-time, based in the UK, Ireland, Estonia, the Netherlands, Sweden or Israel, and is open to contractors in Eastern Europe and Portugal. It sits within the R&D team and is AI-augmented from day one.
Key responsibilities
- Expand vendor coverage by building new integrations against third-party billing and usage APIs, keeping existing ones current as vendors change their APIs and pricing models.
- Use AI daily across the workflow: exploring codebases and APIs, prototyping, generating and reviewing code, debugging, writing tests and documenting.
- Own the quality of the data produced by integrations: duplication, gaps, race conditions, deduplication of spend arriving via cloud marketplaces, and support for negotiated rates.
- Build normalization models so bills from many vendors are comparable in units, currency, time granularity, resources and cost categories.
- Own orchestration, scheduling and backfill of ingestion pipelines, making backfills routine and self-service.
- Work with product, support and other engineers to close data gaps and propose work.
Required profile
- 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a data-heavy backend role, with production ownership of pipelines others depend on.
- Experience integrating third-party REST APIs, handling pagination, rate limits, partial failures, late data and incorrect vendor documentation.
- Experience developing solutions in the cloud and/or using cloud services.
- Excellent written and spoken English, self-organized and goal-oriented.
- Bonus: experience with cloud or SaaS billing data, Go, financial-grade systems, FinOps, or a BA/BS degree.
Required skills
- Strong SQL and hands-on pipeline building with an orchestration framework (Dagster or Airflow highly desired; Prefect, dbt or similar acceptable).
- Strong Python or another fluent data language.
- Cloud data warehouse or analytical store (BigQuery, ClickHouse, Snowflake, Redshift or similar).
What we offer
- Unlimited vacation and flexible working options.
- Health insurance, parental leave and home office allowance.
- Employee stock option plan and professional development stipend.
- Peer recognition program.
