Finance Developer - General Ledger and Internal Accounting

About the role

SEB is looking for a Finance Developer to join its General Ledger and internal accounting team in Tallinn. Finance Developers define and implement how banking products are accounted for in SEB Baltic systems, turning business events into correct, auditable financial postings in the General Ledger. The role sits in an Agile delivery team and connects product events, accounting rules and data flows into working reporting solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Work across teams to enable product launches, collaborating with stakeholders and other delivery teams so new products get correct accounting and reporting outcomes.
• Define product accounting rules: translate product lifecycle events into accounting events and posting logic (what gets posted, when and how).
• Define data requirements for the General Ledger: specify and validate what data must arrive from source systems, including structure, content, quality and reconciliation points.
• Contribute to GL-related solutions and improvements, covering stability, quality and maintainability.
• Support and operate what is built: incident impact assessment, root cause analysis, emergency change testing and continuous improvement to reduce maintenance load.
• Analyse, design and validate solutions: turn user stories into detailed requirements and solution designs, and take part in testing and validation.
• Work in an Agile way: pull prioritised work from the backlog, contribute to sprint goals and continuously improve how value is delivered.

Required profile

• Background in finance, accounting, risk or reporting.
• Experience with financial systems, data or reporting solutions.
• Experience with General Ledger, internal accounting or regulatory reporting.
• Experience in banking or financial services.
• Ability to communicate clearly with both business and IT stakeholders.

Required skills

• General Ledger and internal accounting knowledge.
• Experience in Agile / Scrum teams.
• Good analytical skills and understanding of complex processes and data flows.
• Proactive mindset and ownership of delivered solutions.
