About the role

We are looking for a Category Group Manager to lead the garden and indoor finishing product range at Bauhof. You will shape the assortment strategy, drive sales growth and manage a small team in a dynamic retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the strategic product assortment for the garden and indoor finishing department in collaboration with your team and other category groups.
• Lead, support and develop a 5‑person team to achieve shared objectives.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best pricing and terms.
• Plan promotional campaigns, monitor results and evaluate performance.
• Analyse sales, inventory and market data to make informed decisions.
• Collaborate with store managers, business sales, supply‑chain and marketing teams.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of gardening products and plants with a genuine interest in the sector.
• Previous experience in category management, purchasing or a similar responsibility.
• Proven ability to lead both business results and people, set clear goals and support team development.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to identify trends and business opportunities.
• Strategic thinking, seeing the big picture and turning ideas into action.
• Willingness to take responsibility and influence the development of the department and the wider company.
