Network Engineer – Platform Integrations (EMEA)

About the role

Wise is building the infrastructure that moves billions of dollars each month. The Platform Integrations EMEA team designs, builds and operates direct integration platforms that connect complex financial systems across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain integrations between Wise and complex financial systems.
• Develop scalable, repeatable architectures that meet complex regulatory requirements.
• Analyse infrastructure for inefficiencies, create automation and optimise performance.
• Collaborate with platform engineering and product teams on globally impactful projects.
• Communicate with stakeholders, plan road‑maps and define realistic delivery scopes.
• Influence technology direction, advocate for excellence with third‑party providers and drive architectural improvements.

Required profile

• Self‑starter who can run projects independently.
• Focus on reliability, scalability, security and privacy by design.
• Comfortable assessing risks, compliance and challenging the status quo.
• Effective communicator able to tailor messages for technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Works well in a flat, collaborative organisation and can influence architectural decisions.

Required skills

• TCP/IP, routing, switching, BGP, ECMP, firewalls, IPSEC, GRE, Network ACLs.
• SRE and network automation: IaC, Python, Ansible, Netconf, CI/CD, telemetry.
• JNCIS/CCNP‑level knowledge; Linux networking (routing protocols, IPSEC tunnels).
• Cloud networking on AWS – VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPC Peering, Cloud WAN.
• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Check Point (physical & cloud), L2 switching.
• Infrastructure as code tools: Terraform, Ansible, Netconf; Git/GitHub.

What we offer

• Starting salary: €4,250 – €5,750 gross per month (€51,000 – €69,000 gross per year).
