About the role

The Security Police Board is seeking a System Architect to design and maintain software and system architectures that safeguard the nation. You will shape the technical direction of critical systems, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and adaptable to future needs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and document software and system architectures using modern patterns such as micro‑services and event‑driven approaches.
• Apply enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, ArchiMate) to align solutions with organisational goals.
• Develop end‑to‑end system solutions using Python, Java and SQL.
• Define and govern APIs (REST, OpenAPI), data models, and containerisation/orchestration strategies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Ensure compliance with Estonian information‑security standards (E‑ITS, ISO/IEC 27001) and the national data exchange layer (X‑tee).
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to guarantee security, reliability and maintainability of all deployed systems.

Required profile

• University degree in a relevant field.
• At least five years of software development experience, including architectural responsibilities.
• Estonian citizenship and fluent Estonian language skills.
• Willingness to obtain a state secret clearance and pass a security check.
