Engineering Lead - Business Operations Tooling

About the role

The Business Operations Tooling team builds and improves the tools used by Operational teams, centralising data, simplifying workflows and automating time-consuming tasks so each operational person can serve more high-volume customers. The initial phase uses Salesforce before bespoke internal tools are developed. The Engineering Lead owns the technical architecture, development standards and delivery of the roadmap, and hires and manages the engineers while working with product, design and analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Define the technical approach for building tools, balancing short-term wins against long-term initiatives; the role is hands-on.
• Take part actively in product definition and the team's roadmap.
• Lead and mentor individual contributor engineers, ensure code quality and drive project completion.
• Work with cross-functional teams such as design, product and analytics to build and integrate the tools.

Required profile

• Experience leading and mentoring software engineers.
• Strong communication style and experience leading one or more teams across multiple functions.
• Backend engineering and system architecture experience with scalable solutions, ideally in a fast-paced environment or for internal tooling.
• Experience designing complex systems, handling databases and designing APIs.
• Experience with asynchronous messaging.
• Nice to have: JVM languages (Java, Kotlin); financial background is a plus.

What we offer

• Starting salary of EUR 6,666 - 8,333 gross per month plus Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
