Principal Software Engineer (macOS) - Remote EU

About the role

ThreatDown, a provider of Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services, is hiring a Principal Software Developer (macOS) to build enterprise-grade endpoint protection for macOS. The role is remote within the EU and focuses on creating products that protect thousands of enterprise customers from malware.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new products and build enterprise-grade endpoint protection for macOS
• Design and develop tools supporting ThreatDown's initiatives
• Collect and process data and metrics to track emerging threats
• Support colleagues by communicating, documenting, unit-testing and peer reviewing
• Work in an Agile environment with a high-performance team

Required profile

• Understanding of Object-Oriented development practices
• Ability to work on a high-performance team in a high-tech startup or startup-like environment
• Strong understanding of macOS system architecture and internals
• Familiarity with macOS security and distribution requirements (code signing, entitlements, sandboxing, privacy permissions, notarization)
• Good to have: cybersecurity principles, secure coding practices, and familiarity with MDM and configuration profiles

Required skills

• Swift and/or Objective-C
• Backend development on macOS (data management, networking, system integrations)
• Debugging and optimizing macOS applications for performance
• Foundation, Xcode, Instruments and LLDB
