Senior Operations Analyst - Payment Operations

About the role

Wise is looking for a Senior Operations Analyst to join its Payment Operations organisation in Tallinn. The team helps drive data-driven decisions that improve the quality of data models and the way operational capacity is forecasted. The organisation ensures customers' payments flow smoothly by resolving issues around the movement of funds. This is an IC2 role within a wider team of 150+ analysts.

Key responsibilities

• Build and optimise data models that identify operational actions and customer friction points in the payment processing journey
• Develop an operational forecasting model to predict capacity based on future workload demand
• Build scalable and efficient data pipelines and improve the quality of data assets
• Own and track key metrics such as forecast accuracy and data health of pipelines
• Produce reports and visualisations that turn large amounts of data into actionable insights for other teams
• Communicate insights to senior stakeholders and support data-driven decision-making

Required profile

• Placed in Tallinn, Estonia, or willing to relocate (relocation support is not offered, only right to work documentation)
• Strong quantitative skills; ideally a background in statistics, mathematics, physics, engineering, analytics, computing or a related scientific field
• Ability to structure business problems with minimal supervision and to translate business insights into clear analytical narratives
• Proactive, with ownership of impact on customers

Required skills

• Strong SQL and experience building data pipelines
• Comfortable designing and implementing complex data models independently
• Data visualisation tools such as Looker, PowerBI or Tableau
• Nice to have: FinTech/payments experience, forecasting and operational analytics experience, user-facing product experience, and Python and/or dbt
