Team Lead - Software Development

About the role

Breakwater Technology is a technology solutions company covering the full product lifecycle, from requirements and specification through software coding and development to application support and maintenance. It is looking for a Team Lead to join its growing team, based on site in Tallinn, Estonia. Relocation support and visa sponsorship are not provided.

Key responsibilities

• Help the team with day-to-day impediments and questions, and ensure technical initiatives follow architectural priorities
• Facilitate Scrum events and act as first point of contact for performance-related and technical questions
• Improve team processes by analysing delivery data and implementing improvements, and be accountable for the team's overall performance
• Cultivate a high-performing team through shared responsibility and cross-functional cooperation
• Handle hiring and onboarding: evaluate recruitment needs, take part in interviews and case studies, assign a mentor, keep onboarding documentation up to date and track new hire progress
• Decide on performance reviews, vacations and salary adjustments, support career growth, and assess the need for extra mentorship
• Manage team dynamics and change within the team

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar role such as Team Lead, Tech Lead or Engineering Manager
• Experience working with or leading Agile teams
• Gaming experience is an advantage
