Application Engineer – AI Data Centers

About the role

Skeleton Technologies is seeking an Application Engineer to act as the technical face for AI and hyperscale data centre customers across Europe. You will lead the relationship from the first conversation through to a signed deal, representing the company to senior engineering and procurement stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pre‑sales and post‑sales technical support to AI data centre customers and partners.
• Collaborate with sales teams to translate customer requirements into concrete technical solutions.
• Develop and optimise system architectures that integrate Skeleton’s ultracapacitors into UPS, backup power and energy‑efficiency applications.
• Conduct on‑site visits, technical trainings and product demonstrations.
• Support system design, including electrical schematics, thermal considerations and lifecycle‑cost analysis.
• Work closely with R&D and Product Development to feed field feedback and improve product‑market fit.
• Prepare technical documentation such as specifications, integration guides and white papers for the AI data centre market.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and certifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or a related field.
• 3+ years experience as an application or field engineer in the data centre or power‑infrastructure industry.
• Strong knowledge of power backup systems, UPS, batteries and ultracapacitors.
• Familiarity with thermal management, grid‑tied systems and the operational demands of high‑density AI compute environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel internationally for customer meetings and site support.
