Associate Medical Director – Cardiology, Metabolic & Nephrology

About the role

The Associate Medical Director will act as a global medical advisor for IQVIA, providing clinical and scientific expertise across cardiology, metabolic diseases and nephrology. The role supports trial delivery, business development and therapeutic training for project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as Global Medical Advisor on assigned projects, guiding scientific and medical aspects.
• Review protocols, Investigational Drug Brochures, case report forms and provide clarification on inclusion/exclusion criteria.
• Support investigative sites with protocol‑related questions, patient safety issues and eligibility determinations.
• Conduct medical monitoring of adverse events, including SAE case review and coding.
• Present at investigator meetings, kick‑off sessions and client briefings.
• Review clinical study reports and patient narratives.
• Provide therapeutic area training for clinical teams.
• Be available 24/7 for urgent protocol queries and travel up to 20% as needed.

Required profile

• Medical degree from an accredited institution with a valid medical license.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical practice and experience in clinical trials (investigator, pharma, CRO or biotech).
• Board certification in Cardiology and knowledge of metabolic diseases and nephrology.
• Strong understanding of the regulatory, scientific and commercial landscape in the therapeutic area.
• Fluent English and excellent communication skills.
