Associate Medical Director, Nephrology

About the role

The Associate Medical Director, Nephrology will act as a global medical advisor for IQVIA’s clinical programs, providing scientific and clinical expertise across all phases of trial execution. The role supports project teams, investigators, and business development activities to ensure high‑quality, compliant delivery of nephrology studies.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as Global Medical Advisor and Scientific Advisor on assigned nephrology projects.
• Provide medical support to investigative sites, including protocol clarifications, eligibility determinations, and patient safety issues.
• Review and approve protocols, Investigational Drug Brochures, case report forms, adverse event coding, and clinical study reports.
• Deliver therapeutic area training to clinical teams and present at investigator meetings.
• Participate in kick‑off, weekly, and client meetings; be available 24/7 for urgent protocol questions.
• Collaborate with Pharmacovigilance on serious adverse event review and analysis of similar events.
• Travel 15‑20% as required.

Required profile

• Medical degree from an accredited institution and a valid medical license.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical medicine experience plus experience in clinical trials as an investigator or in pharma, CRO, or biotech.
• Board certification and knowledge of Phase I or early clinical development.
• Strong understanding of scientific, regulatory, commercial, and competitive landscape in nephrology.
• Fluent English and excellent communication skills.
