Electronics Design Engineer

About the role

As an Electronics Design Engineer, you will contribute to the development of control electronics for ABB frequency converters, helping bring new products from concept to production. Working as part of our R&D organization, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, test, and improve electronics solutions that support reliable and high‑performing products.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop electronics circuits and systems for frequency converters, from concept through validation and production release.
• Test, verify, and document the functionality, performance, and reliability of developed solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including layout design and specialized testing providers when needed.
• Contribute to system‑level design activities and support product integration and testing.
• Identify technical challenges, propose solutions, and support continuous improvement of products and development practices.
• Ensure designs meet quality, safety, reliability, and project requirements.

Required profile

• Hold a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in printed circuit board (PCB) design and analog and digital electronics design.
• Familiarity with electronics simulation and design tools and a passion for solving technical challenges.
• Ability to communicate confidently in English.
• Experience in power supply design, frequency converter technologies, or functional safety circuits is a plus.
