QA Research Engineer

About the role

Malwarebytes is looking for a collaborative Research QA Engineer who thrives in a dynamic, multi-project environment, improves test processes and execution and enjoys finding good bugs. The role works in an agile setting, collaborating with developers to deliver quality software iteratively.

Key responsibilities

• Comprehend and execute test cases, manual and automated
• Uncover, document and track defects
• Improve test case execution efficiency and test coverage
• Take part in requirements testing
• Contribute to improving process and test methodologies, execution efficiency and effectiveness

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in QA roles within agile teams, with a strong focus on desktop application testing
• Proven ability to take ownership of QA processes, from development to release
• Analytical and critical thinking skills, and strong organisational and multitasking skills
• Ability to mentor team members, drive QA initiatives and set up robust testing processes

Required skills

• Testing theory and QA best practices for web services applications
• Understanding of distributed architecture and ecosystem
• Development and debugging tools for Python, Go, Ruby and React
• Automated test design with Python and Pytest or Playwright for React
• CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) with automated tests integrated
• Nice to have: Go, Ruby or React; performance and stress testing; API testing tools such as Postman or Bruno; security, privacy and accessibility standards
