Senior Risk / Lead Risk Expert, Credit Risk Control and CRO Delegates

About the role

Nordea is looking for credit risk experts to help ensure high credit quality across its businesses. Group Credit Risk is an independent second line of defence unit that safeguards prudent credit risk management; you will join one of two teams performing credit risk control on Corporate or Household customers, with team members spread across the Nordic countries and Estonia. Positions are available in Helsinki, Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen or Tallinn.

Key responsibilities

• Perform or lead oversight of credit processes and credit quality in specific topics, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring alignment with internal requirements.
• Work closely with the first line of defence and other stakeholders to support solid credit risk management.
• Support information requests to local financial authorities, external auditors, the ECB and other ad hoc tasks.
• Build and maintain a network of relevant stakeholders within Nordea.
• Take part in credit committee and other decision tracks so that decisions comply with risk appetite and the credit risk framework.
• Advise and support business units on credit-risk matters.
• Take part in creating and updating internal credit guidelines and industry credit policies.

Required profile

• Experience in credit controls or credit granting.
• Master's degree or equivalent relevant experience, with fluent professional English.
• Strong collaboration, written and spoken communication skills, and good knowledge of relevant regulation and credit processes.
• Analytical, structured approach with sound judgment; good ethical standards.
• Ideal: proven ability to lead initiatives or projects, experience with cross-border teams, and experience using AI and data analytics.
