Senior Software Engineer - Payment Processing Platform

About the role

Wise is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Payment Processing Platform in Tallinn. The platform provides reliable, scalable services used by other product teams for transfers and payouts, and aims to be easy to use, integrate and extend while enforcing good practices, risk mitigation and high performance.

Required profile

• A strong product mindset and passion for user experience, prioritising work with the customer in mind and making data-driven decisions to fix customer pain points
• Great communication skills to drive cross-team projects, and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Enjoyment of writing testable, easy to extend, high-quality code
• Advocacy for best coding practices, code reviews and open feedback
• Understanding of the team's vision and values, and of why payments fail and how to solve them

Required skills

• Solid Java 11 knowledge, Spring framework and microservice best practices
• Distributed and concurrent systems, hands-on microservice architecture patterns
• Relational databases, messaging queues and schema design
