SME Credit Manager

About the role

ESTO is seeking an experienced SME Credit Manager to lead the performance and growth of its SME lending portfolio in Estonia. The role combines credit risk analysis, portfolio management and strategic decision‑making to ensure sound underwriting and sustainable portfolio quality.

Key responsibilities

• Own and monitor the SME financing portfolio, tracking approval rates, default rates, yield and overall quality.
• Identify risk trends and recommend adjustments to underwriting policies, credit limits and decision rules.
• Analyse portfolio performance, risk segmentation and channel quality, delivering regular reports and actionable insights.
• Integrate new data sources and collaborate with data‑science and operations teams on credit scoring, default prediction and decisioning infrastructure.
• Optimise customer tiering and credit limits based on behavioural and portfolio analysis, supporting credit governance and risk oversight.

Required profile

• 3–7+ years of experience in credit risk, lending, portfolio management or SME finance.
• Strong understanding of credit underwriting, portfolio performance metrics and lending economics.
• Proven ability to translate portfolio analysis into improvements in credit policies and limits.
• Experience working with credit scoring models and cross‑functional analytics teams.
• Familiarity with external credit data sources and risk‑modeling approaches is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
