Software Engineer – Microsoft Business Central Specialist

About the role

Wise is seeking a Software Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Business Central to help optimise, customise and extend our ERP environment. You will work on configuring Business Central, building integrations with third‑party systems and leading the migration to the cloud‑based SaaS version, ensuring smooth, reliable operations across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, customise and extend Microsoft Business Central using AL or C/AL, creating custom pages, reports and extensions.
• Design, develop and deploy API‑based integrations (OData, REST) between Business Central and external applications such as inventory, finance and CRM systems.
• Manage and optimise the Microsoft SQL Server database that underpins Business Central, focusing on performance, integrity and high availability.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions for automated testing, deployment and version control.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams and vendors to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues and deliver efficient solutions.
• Lead the planning and execution of the migration from on‑premises Business Central to the cloud SaaS platform, handling data migration and configuration transfer.
• Ensure security, reliability and monitoring standards, including role‑based access, audit trails and proactive issue resolution.
• Participate in on‑call rotations to support production systems and improve incident response processes.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience developing and extending Microsoft Business Central.
• Strong understanding of ERP concepts and data flows.
• Proven ability to design and implement integrations using web services.
• Experience with database administration and performance tuning for SQL Server.
• Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and CI/CD tooling.
