Software Engineer - Treasury Money Movement

About the role

Wise is looking for a Full‑Stack Engineer to design and operate the core services that power its global treasury platform. You will build resilient, distributed systems that move massive volumes of money while delivering intuitive user interfaces for internal operations.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and maintain scalable micro‑services using Java and Spring Boot, handling billions of dollars in monthly volume with zero downtime.
• Design and implement React‑based user interfaces that enable operations teams to work efficiently and safely.
• Develop logic to manage real‑world constraints such as bank‑specific API quirks, holiday schedules, and regional settlement cut‑offs.
• Build and optimise data pipelines and reconciliation processes to ensure every transaction is accurately recorded.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional experience with Java (or other JVM languages) and the Spring framework.
• 3+ years of experience building front‑end applications with React.
• Strong understanding of backend development, databases (SQL/NoSQL), asynchronous communication, and distributed systems.
• Customer‑first mindset, ability to own problems end‑to‑end, and data‑driven decision making.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude toward improving code, architecture, and processes.
