Senior Manager, Employee Relations
Bolt · Tallinn
Job description
About the role
Bolt is building its Employee Relations function from scratch. As Senior Manager, Employee Relations, you will own the ER strategy globally, making it more commercial, consistent and legally rigorous across 52 countries. You will sit in the People team, report to the Director of People Partnering, lead a small ER function and advise the business on complex cases and employment law changes. The role is based in Tallinn or London.
Key responsibilities
- Own and rebuild Bolt's ER framework end to end: audit current processes across jurisdictions, replace overly cautious or inconsistent approaches with legally sound ones, and develop policies, toolkits and decision frameworks, including the performance management process.
- Lead high-risk and senior ER cases, including those involving executives, legal proceedings or significant reputational exposure; advise senior stakeholders on legal risk and commercial trade-offs, and support or lead cases going to court or tribunal.
- Own the whistleblowing framework: policy, case intake, investigation oversight and outcomes reporting, including board-level reporting and escalation protocols.
- Monitor employment law across markets and lead change implementation, from gap analysis to policy updates, communications and training.
- Keep oversight of ER data to surface systemic patterns and early risks.
- Build ER capability: design and deliver training for the People team and managers, manage, coach and develop the ER Specialist, and create practical resources.
Required profile
- Deep ER experience in a complex, multi-jurisdictional environment, navigating employment law across several geographies.
- Proven track record managing sensitive, senior-level cases with discretion and sound judgment.
- Commercial mindset, credible with senior stakeholders across Legal, Finance and the wider People function.
- Analytical, comfortable owning ER data and turning case volumes and trends into insights.
- Experience managing or developing others, and having owned or significantly contributed to a whistleblowing framework.
What we offer
- A competitive salary and stock options.
- Wellness perks and a 1-month paid sabbatical after 5 years.
- Annual company events and smaller team gatherings.
- Hybrid model with at least 12 monthly in-office days.
