Senior Software Engineer - Conversational AI (Python)

About the role

Glia is a banking AI platform used by banks and credit unions, and Team Vector builds the voice AI agents that talk directly to customers. As a Senior Software Engineer in Estonia, you will design and ship the core of the agentic voice AI framework, from conversation orchestration and tool calling to runtime architecture, with a focus on low-latency, safe and compliant responses.

Key responsibilities

• Build and evolve the harness controls (guardrails, grounding, policy checks, evaluation) that make LLM agents trustworthy for banking.
• Work on latency end to end: profile, measure and optimize speech recognition, LLM inference, tool calls and speech synthesis.
• Help unify the runtime architecture and remove configuration friction so new banking use cases launch quickly.
• Keep existing production systems stable and reliable while building the next generation.
• Collaborate with product, design and engineering teams across Europe and Vancouver to turn ambiguous problems into shipped outcomes.
• Use AI-assisted development tools daily and help set standards for reviewing and verifying agent-generated code.

Required profile

• Core requirement: hands-on experience building production AI systems and understanding LLM architecture (prompting, context management, tool use, retrieval and grounding, evaluation).
• Experience with real-time or voice AI and agent SDKs (e.g. Claude Agent SDK, OpenAI Agents SDK) is a strong plus.
• Ability to own complex designs, make trade-offs and spot risk early.
• Proactive, adaptable, curious and able to collaborate across time zones; at least 2 hours of overlap per day with Pacific Time.
• Ideally prior tech lead, team lead or mentorship experience.
