Senior Software Engineer - Identity Platform

About the role

Bigbank, an Estonian bank with an international presence, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design, build and evolve its Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform. The role sits in the Identity and Access Management Engineering team and focuses on secure authentication and authorization services used by thousands of customers. Candidates must already reside in Estonia.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain secure IAM services, including authentication, authorization and identity lifecycle solutions.
• Design scalable, secure and maintainable software architectures and implement functional, non-functional and security requirements.
• Build automated tests and improve software quality; build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability.
• Take ownership of solutions from design through implementation and maintenance, and participate in architecture decisions and code reviews.
• Collaborate with engineers across teams and continuously improve engineering practices and system performance.

Required profile

• At least 6 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong backend experience with Node.js and/or Java, and experience developing secure software.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, production troubleshooting and Agile engineering teams.
• Good English and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
